Our first post!

Welcome! It's lovely to see you here as we toil away to get our site up and running. We are Knitterty, a site where you will be able to come to find that elusive item for yourself or a loved one who loves the craft of knitting.  Or just a yarn lover.

Times have changed, as they always do, and now the art of knitting has just exploded.  In the past we were stereotyped - the little old lady in the rocking chair surrounded by cats. Well those days are, thankfully gone. Knitting is done by all types of people - every gender, every age, every race, every socio-economic group. It provides so many benefits to our lives and more and more people are starting to realize that a ball of yarn and couple of knitting needles can provide a sense of achievement, happiness and calm that isn't always available in our day to day lives.  

We live in challenging times. Every other day, it seems, we learn of a new scandal, a horrible new disease, more sadness in the world. We get wrapped up in it all which, along with our own situations, can be just overwhelming. We need an escape, an out - if only for a short time - and knitting can provide that "out" to so many of us. Here at Knitterty we celebrate the positive impact that knitting can bring.

Our collections of clothing, accessories and homeware will be with you while you navigate these times.  The mug for your morning tea while you contemplate another crazy day at work. The pillow that you lean against while doing another row.  The sweatshirt that will keep you warm and cozy while at your next knit and natter session.
